The Big Kahuna Triathlon this past weekend was the most fun I’ve had at a triathlon at a long time:
The Mankini Death Match lived up to the hype! Andrew thought he had it wrapped up, but Monzy blasted the 2nd half of the half marathon to win a narrow 2 minute victory. Tomorrow Andrew will have to run his hill reps in a TriForce red mankini.
Rob won his AG and was 5th overall including elites with a PR of 4:24. (Who is that handsome guy to his right?!)
Guillaume won his AG with a PR of 4:36, despite following my directions to cruise the run at IM heart rate.
Monzy won the Mankini Challenge finishing in 5:03 pulling off a massive 22 minute PR. (Here he sprints to the finish in case it came down to seconds!)
Andrew had a good news / bad news race. Good news was a 29 minute PR of 5:09. Bad news is that he’ll be sporting a Mankini on Thursday.
I was 2nd in my AG with a time of 4:30, racing at my GIMPP (Goal Ironman Pace & Power).
Lots of great TriForce supporters were on hand including Caroline “MVP” Bontia, Jake “The Majestic Horse” Bailey with the entire Bailey clan, Tyler “Roid Rage” Gray together with mom Michelle, TriForcer John “Snickers” Nickerson, Martine “Mom of Road Grit” DeZwirek, and Lauren “My boyfriend refuse to take off his mankini” and other friends of Andrew.
